Look Out World - David's Mobile!

Yes, believe it or not, David is rolling all on his own. He can roll himself across the room or until he runs into something (which usually comes first). And he doesn't want our help, as he screams if we try to help him. It is so remarkable to see him grow and learn. And at the same time, it is quite scary. At least we know he can roll both from back to tummy and tummy to back, so he shouldn't get stuck. Pretty soon he will be crawling. With his determination, it won't take long.

It is probably a good thing he is rolling already, because we want him to get the exercise. He has gotten to the point now where David searches for the TV whenever he is in the living room. Matt has trouble feeding him when the TV is on, because he gets too distracted and tries to look in its direction. When we put in Baby Einstein or Baby Praise DVDs, they will hold his attention as long as 20 minutes.

William O'Brien State Park

Today David had his first trip to a state park. We went on a beautiful 1.6 mile hike along the St. Croix River. David had a wonderful time ... for the first half of the hike. He then slept through the second half. While he was awake, he was so happy just to be outside looking at the trees. For some reason, he loves the trees. Even when we go for walks at home, he loves to stare up into the leafy green wonders. I think he is going to be an outdoor kid just like his parents.
