Fun Time in Steamboat!

It was another fun trip to Steamboat Springs. I couldn't believe I found airfare straight to Hayden for only $156 RT (after taxes and fees). Then I only spent a total of $50 while I was there, making this the cheapest trip ever.

Jana, Tricia, and I tried to hike in to a mountain yurt for a night. Unfortunately, the propane fireplace (which would have heated the yurt to a comfortable 45 degrees) was broken by those who were up there before us. We tried to stay warm, but we ended up hiking down in the dark later that evening. It was a difficult hike up, but thankfully the hike down was much more comfortable. Jana's husband Dan was amazing and had warm fresh-baked cookies waiting for us when we got back.

We spent a good deal of time out with the horses. Their horses are amazing - much more like pets than anything else. It made me want a horse again.

After spending a lot of time outside, we ended up at Strawberry Park Hot Springs where we warmed up in the steamy pools. It is beautiful there.
My trip came to an end as we had breakfast on top of the mountain before heading to the airport. It was an amazing trip!
