Parties and Picnics

David had a little too much to drink on Saturday, resulting in very wet pants. Oh well, babies look cute in their diapers.
David loved checking out the hummers and trucks at the Marine Family Day on Sunday.
In fact, he was only happy when he was behind the wheel.

This last week has been a long series of parties and picnics. On Wednesday, Matt, David and I BBQ'd at a nearby park. Then Thursday my department at work had a picnic over lunch. Saturday we had a double-header, starting with a "disciple picnic" with people from the play. After that we raced to my dad's house for his 50th birthday party (his birthday is Monday). If that wasn't enough, we finished it off with the Marine Family Day picnic at the reserve center on Sunday. Matt had an even busier weekend, because he drilled Friday, Saturday and Sunday, yet didn't miss a single event. Then Sunday night he worked at church to finish off the weekend.

So that is what we have been up to. Now here is what David is up to. Ever since visiting the Duluth Train Depot over the Fourth, he has had a fascination with trains. He already loved Thomas the Tank Engine, but now he has made the connection. Matt brought David to the store this week to purchase a new sippy cup (since ours keep disappearing), and David went crazy when he saw the Thomas sippy cup. So this morning we were watching Thomas on TV, and David lit up, pointed at his sippy cup and started searching the floor for his toy loco, Pearsy (from the Thomas & Friends show). He walks around with it going, "Too Too." He does the same thing every time he takes a drink from his Thomas cup.

Hi--I'm actually a friend of Meg's and I was just checking your site because our kids are close in age (my daughter turns 15 months Aug. 4). Anyways, you take lovely pictures...what type of camera do you use?

I use a Canon 20D (Digital SLR) for most of my picts - and I love that camera, but we also use a digital Olympus point & shoot for around the house. The diaper picture was with the Canon 20D and the other two here are with the Olympus.
