Happy 1st Birthday, David!

It was a busy weekend for everyone. We had several performances, as well as David's baptism and birthday party.

After the baptism we had an afternoon performance that everyone attended. Then after that it was back to our house for David's birthday party.

He wasn't too pleased when we sat him in his high chair. Then everyone started singing, and his face lit up! He was laughing and waving to everyone. By the time the cake came he had learned that everytime he clapped, all the adults would clap. That was fun.

At first David got more out of the tissue paper than the actual presents. He got so many wonderful things, including 19 shirts, 11 shorts, bibs, sandles, 2 blankets, 6 books, several toys and much, much more!

In Other News
David learned a new word - "Wow!" We brought him to the zoo for his actual birthday on Monday, where he pointed to everything and said, "Wow!" He had a full zoo experience including a walk out to the farm and getting pecked in the hand by a chicken.

Today David had his 1 year check-up. He seems to be totally healthy. He did receive a couple shots, but it was actually the bloodwork that caused the most pain. That is a lot of blood they tried to squeeze out of his tiny finger. They couldn't get enough the first time so they had to stick him again in another finger. Shots are a piece of cake compared to that.
