Today Matt went before a board of seven senior enlisted who drilled him for three hours on Marine warfare. At the end he walked away with the Fleet Marine Warfare qualification, making him an expert in that field. It was quite an accomplishment that most reservists are unable to achieve.
Even better news than that is the fact that Matt will be taking his first step toward demobilization this Wednesday. He will be flying from California to North Carolina, where he will be going through a good week or so of out-processing. Unfortunately he will be arriving in North Carolina the day before a 4-day weekend (President’s Day), so that will set him back at least two days in getting everything done.
Please pray he will be home by the weekend of the 25th so he doesn’t miss any more practices for the upcoming Passion Play this spring. Of course, I just want him home – soon!
