BWCA - Brule Lake

We just got back from our trip to the BWCA. David had a great time, and we are all exhausted. However, it was truly amazing! We loved it!

It was quite hot on our trip, so David spent quite a bit of his time in the water. He would play til his lips turned blue, then warm up, then play again, then warm up, etc.
The BWCA was very crowded, so once we finally found a site, we didn't dare leave. We still made the most of it by taking little day trips from our island. In all we paddled over 10 miles in three days - not bad with a 3-year-old.
By the end of the trip, David was so tired he slept almost the entire way back to the entry point. He needed it. We ended up cutting our trip a day short because he was so tired ... and fussy!

Now I have the BWCA bug. I can't wait to go back ... hopefully leaving David behind next time so we can handle some portages and get farther in. Though when we mentioned that, David screamed, "You can't go without me!"
